YMCA Camp Chief Hector Out-Tripping Cabin

Exshaw, Alberta

2020

Working within the constraints of the Kananaskis Improvement District’s exterior material palette as well as a tight budget, Left Hand Architecture & Design Inc. was able to deliver a utilitarian building that included program such as Breakout Rooms, a Conference Room with a view, a Kitchen Area, and multiple shower and change rooms. Inclusivity was considered to include a Barrier Free Washroom and Gender Neutral Change Rooms. The Out-Tripping Cabin offers views to the mountains and outdoor activity spaces for the Coordinators and children as they use the building to prepare for excursions throughout the Camp Chief Hector property.
